Gratitude turns what we have into enough

overcoming obstacles

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow. Melody Beattie

This is one of my favorite quotes –it’s a long one, but the depth of its meaning is something I have turned to when I’ve needed a lift. When I lost my job, I was initially in denial that something like that could have possibly happened to ME. When I accepted it, and became grateful, my life changed. This year has been quite a year. As I’ve gone through the chaos and confusion of building the business of my dreams, I’ve had brief glimpses of clarity when it all comes together and makes sense. Although I haven’t figured out the “how” yet, I trust that I’m on the right track and that’s what brings me peace.

When you look back on your life, what challenges or obstacles did you face? How did you grow as a result of these “problems?” Take a moment and be thankful that you weren’t given anything you couldn’t handle. Know you are tough, you are resilient and you will overcome any of the curve balls that life happens to throw at you.

Have fun,
Lisa

Seriously, would you have changed anything?

When will you be satisfied?

“You say, ‘If I had a little more, I should be very satisfied.’ You make a mistake. If you are not content with what you have, you would not be satisfied if it were doubled.”Charles Haddon Spurgeon

“When I finish school, THEN I’ll be happy.”, “When I get married, THEN I’ll be happy.”, “When I find the ultimate sales job, THEN I’ll be happy.”, “When I’m a famous speaker and best-selling author, THEN I’ll be happy.” I have either uttered these words or thought them at some point in my life, and yet I realize that when I’m happy with what I have, the rest of my life flows better.
