Youth is the gift of nature, but age is a work of art

2019 10 03 1206 002October 4th of 2019 was a big day in my family. It was the day that the last of my siblings turns 50. It’s almost hard to believe that Scotty, that red-haired, blue-eyed, freckle-faced little brother of mine was actually half a decade old.

It’s true that you can’t pick your family members. But if I had to do it all over again, I would choose the same two sisters, brother, and the two parents that I was given. Thankfully they are all still around – and I don’t take that for granted.

Today, take an extra minute to reach out to a member of your “family” – whether you are related by blood or not. Catch up. Say “hello.” Look for something to celebrate. We create moments and memories every day – let’s use today to make some good ones.
