“You are the sum total of all your choices up until this moment.” Dr. Wayne Dyer
I really knew that I made the right choice in career as a speaker when my friend shared with me what she was looking for in her next job.” She shared, “I want to find a job with large corporate, with a great salary, bonus, 401K and benefits.” As she rattled off the list of everything else she was seeking, all I could think was, “That sounds horrible, why would anyone want that?!!!”
Of course, back in the day, those are exactly the perks that I wanted in my sales career. Looking back, it was all good. As the next chapter unfolds, priorities have changed and so has my definition of my success. I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.
Think about what you’re doing in your chosen career right now. If someone else were to describe your current position to you, would you want it? If your heart screams, “YES!,” you are on the right track. If it doesn’t what can you start to do that will take you closer to your goals?
No matter what your obligations are – financially and personally – you have choices in what you do with your life. The pain of regret may be worse than any temporary setback you experience in pursuing your dream. Go for it.
