I can’t change the way anybody else thinks, or what they choose to do, but I can do my bit.

We can all help each other in expected and unexpected ways. The key is to look for ways to be of service. I had the opportunity to hang out with a speaker whom I have long admired. A part of me wanted to go into the “I’m not worthy” mode, but if I didn’t think I was worthy, why would she?

We experienced a true win/win. Connie introduced me to her client as a colleague, and I’m going to speak at one of their future events. Woo hoo! How did I return the favor? By taking pictures of her in action, posting them on social media, and emailing her the pics. Turns out that she actually doesn’t get a lot of candid shots, so my pictures were quite helpful. Who woulda thought?

Remember, even if you’re a little star-struck by someone who is “too cool for school,” don’t ever think that you can’t do something to serve them. Sometimes it’s the little things that make the biggest difference. Give of yourself, give from the heart, and you will receive more than you can imagine.

Have fun,

Lisa

PS – If you’re going to an event – graduation, wedding, conference – make sure to take pictures – and share them with the people celebrating. You may be the one that captures THE moment.
