Dreams are the Soul’s Pantry

Lisa Ryan Grategy dreams“Dreams are the soul’s pantry.  Keep it well stocked, and your soul will never hunger.” Shirley Feeney (Laverne & Shirley)

What would you do if money were no object?  Our dreams and goals are the things that make life worth living. It’s important to be mindful of the people with whom we choose to share our aspirations.  Like Donna says, “Sharing your dreams with some folks can really deflate your balloon especially if it’s someone you see/talk to all the time. On the one hand, it can work in a positive way – making you more determined to do whatever it is just to show them they were wrong.  But of course, some goals and dreams take time and if you have someone constantly naysaying what you are or are not doing it can be a downer.

“Like they instruct when playing baseball – “keep your eye on the ball” – we must keep our focus on our goal.  Sometimes we must adjust our line of sight, but still need to maintain the focus.”

One of the best ways to keep your dreams “safe” is to get involved in a mastermind group.  A mastermind is a group of like-minded people (4-6 is an ideal number), who get together regularly and support each other in an open, honest, and nurturing way.  Over time, you will build a lifeline that will take you – and your dreams – to levels you may not have believed possible.

PS – Two things are important in a mastermind group – the right people, and thick skin.
