Towards the end of my tenure in the welding industry, I hired a sales coach. Gretchen and I worked together for a couple months and it became apparent that the company I worked for was not going to change, so it had to be me making the change. Gretchen had me write down everything I could possibly want in a job. I created a list of things I never had in my career: huge salary and bonuses, company car, expenses, opportunity to travel, etc. I played full out and dreamed BIG. It was a fun exercise and I put the list away and forgot about it.
Eight months later, while working at my new job in medical sales, I was going through some of my files and discovered my “dream job” list. I realized that EVERY SINGLE ITEM I transcribed on that piece of paper had manifested.
Goals that are not written down are just wishes. Even though I didn’t spend time every day visualizing my perfect job, the fact that I had written it down was enough. My subconscious mind began to work on creating my desires and it came to fruition very quickly.
Are your goals BIG, detailed and written down? Take a couple minutes today and pick just one thing that you want to bring into your life. Write it down and begin the process to attain it.
Don’t be afraid of creating a BHAG – a BIG, HAIRY, AUDACIOUS Goal. You’ll never know your limits unless you stretch them.
