You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are gray

How do you program yourself for positivity? By keeping a gratitude journal, of course! Your journal can consist of 3-5 sentences that you write down every day. Start with “I am grateful for…” and then add some detail to bring it to life. Feel the pen in your hand. Hear the words as you write them down. Experience full appreciation for the moment so you can get the full benefit of your journaling process.

If you write in the morning, you can be grateful in advance – “I’m so grateful I ROCKED my meeting today!” It sets a positive expectation for the day.

If you’d rather write in the evening, look back on the day and come up with 3-5 good things that happened during the day. (CAUTION: after a particularly difficult day, the evening journal can be more difficult to do.)

If you’ve gotten away from your gratitude practice, just start up again. Easy-peasy. In just a few minutes a day, you’ll not only start to feel the difference in how you see your world – others will probably start to notice the difference too.

Have fun,

Lisa

PS – I haven’t talked about the process of gratitude journaling for awhile now, so hopefully this is a gentle reminder or the start of something beautiful! You can do this practice with a friend or loved one to amp up the benefits.
