“Pay no attention to what the critics say. A statue has never been erected in honor of a critic.” Jean Dibelius
When I was 22 years old, I was working for an Executive Search Firm in the data entry department. It was at that job that I was exposed to the wonderful world of sales. When I told my father I was going to leave my comfy salaried job, for a straight-commission sales position, he said, “Why do you want to do that? Sales is feast or famine – don’t you want stability?”
Although he thought I was crazy, I chose to go into sales. For the next 20 years, I built a very successful career. I worked hard, had fun, and made a great living. That choice also paved the way for my entrepreneurial pursuits. I pursued what I wanted, and never looked back.
Is there a dream that you’d love to pursue but others are telling you that you’re silly for wanting it? Do it anyway. Life is too short not to pursue your passion!
