It’s Gratefulness That Makes Us Happy

Lisa Ryan Chief Appreciation Strategist at Grategy, gratefulness makes us happy“In our daily lives, we must see that it is not happiness that makes us grateful, but the gratefulness that makes us happy.” Albert Clarke

One of the most rewarding aspects of “Gratitude Thought for the Week” is the number of responses I receive from people who share their stories of gratitude with me.

Karen, who was experiencing a difficult recovery period from knee surgery, shared, “Patience has never been my strong point.  Your message could not have come at a better time, or made a stronger impact.  Especially the final paragraph: ”Is there something you are struggling with?  Imagine what your  of  of what success looks like, take one little baby-step towards making it happen.” This passage truly gives me food for thought with all that has happened in my life.  I have tried to think that there is a purpose in the path my life has followed.  These two sentences truly mean something to me for many reasons, not just the physical challenge I have been through recently.”

It’s not just reading the messages, it’s taking the words to heart and taking ACTION on what you read.  It’s certainly not the easy choice, but so many good things come about when you can look at them through the eyes of appreciation.

If you take a moment to think about it, you’ll probably find that your greatest challenges have become your most significant victories.  Appreciate all of your moments!
