Feeling Grateful? Express It!

business man with giftsFeeling gratitude and not expressing it, is like wrapping a present and not giving it.  William Arthur Ward

We have no idea the power we have when it comes to taking the time to express gratitude for a job or a service well done.

After several positive experiences with a waiter at a local restaurant, I asked for the restaurant General Manager’s card.  I wrote the manager a note, telling him of the fabulous service I received from this waiter on numerous occasions. I let him know that he should be proud that a person of this caliber would choose to work at his restaurant. I mailed the letter and pretty much forgot about it.

The next time I was at the restaurant, that waiter greeted me with a big hug and handed me a poem he had written.  The poem ended with the verse “It’s amazing how one person’s sunshine can incredibly change another’s life.  And it makes me proud to say, you’re a friend of mine.”  A thank you note is truly the gift that keeps giving.  It creates a beautiful circle of gratitude.

Is there someone you can thank today?  Make it tangible – a note, card or small gift of your appreciation.  When you tell someone you appreciate them, you create a memory.  When you write it down, it becomes a treasure.  Give someone you appreciate a treasure today.

Have fun,

Lisa
