Lost time is never found again.

I am a huge Facebook fan. I learn a lot from the people in the groups that I’m an active member in, and I enjoy keeping in touch with friends and family. Facebook is my happy place, my refuge – and I am grateful for it.

Some people may consider FB a waste of time, and I admit I can get lost there if I allow myself too many distractions. What I’m learning that I have to do to keep my Facebook experience “clean,” is to disconnect with people who post negative, hateful, whiny posts under the guise of sharing what’s “real” in the world. Sorry, I just don’t have the time to devote to that level of negativity.

Like all things in life, we have a choice in the things we allow ourselves to be exposed to. I don’t watch the 11:00 news. I want to make sure that the things I put into my subconscious mind at night are of the highest and best value. When I perceive someone to be a negative influence on my social media posts, I block them or hide their posts from my view.

Do you think that that’s being too naïve? Not facing reality? Closing myself off to the hardships and “reality” of life? Perhaps you’re right – and it doesn’t bother me. These are the choices that are right for me – just as you will make the decisions that are right for you.

What do you need to give up to get more of your precious time back? Who do you need to disconnect from to make your life experience just a little (or a lot) better? These decisions are all about YOU!

Have fun!
