“It’s not what you do once in a while; it’s what you do day in and day out that makes the difference.” Jenny Craig

Life doesn’t always go according to your plan. That’s one of the many reasons why a gratitude practice is so important. By constantly looking for and writing down the good things that happen to you, it forms a habit that serves you well when you need it.

Nancy writes, “On a Saturday morning three years ago; I had to put my cat down due to cancer.  The following Wednesday, my dearest Jim had a massive stroke, and I never spoke to him again, as he died the next month.  During those fateful five days, I kept my habit of thanking God for my health and even mere existence.  God is there always and even through my beautiful and gracious friends.  The bridge God provided through that journey.”

If we can look for things to be thankful for, even in the roughest of times, we can always find them. It’s easier if you already have a gratitude journal that you can go back through and recall the good times to keep yourself positive.

You always have a choice in how you feel.

PS – Please continue to let me know how your gratitude practice has helped you get through tough times. Your story may be just the thing someone else needs to hear.
