Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans.

After a speaking engagement in Savannah, GA was canceled due to Hurricane Irma, I thought that my trip to Hilton Head to visit with a friend from Australia would also not happen.

Jen publishes Magnifigue, an IoS and Android publication that she began in 2010. I’ve been writing articles for her since its inception. Jen planned a trip to the US – unfortunately, while she was to be in Cleveland, I was speaking in Raleigh. Her next leg of the trip was to Hilton Head – and I was speaking in Savannah at the same time. Woo hoo! We could meet after all!

Then Irma happened. My speech in Savannah got canceled, so I rearranged all of my travel. Then, miraculously, plans fell into place. The area Jen was staying in didn’t suffer any damage. American Airlines let me change my flights without a penalty, and I got an amazing deal on a rental car.

Jen and I had a fabulous weekend together. We knew each other from our work on the magazine together, but now we really KNOW each other. So glad it all worked out!

When last-minute changes happen to you, do you give up immediately, or look for ways to make it work? How often have you found that the new plans are even better than the original? Yep, that’s life!

Have fun,

Lisa
